How to use GIS Journal Platform
The GIS Journal Platform is a platform developed for the GIS Journalism & Yearbook class to help write and manage articles for the student-led journal, GIS Standard.
How publishing works
- The manager adds the students and creates a edition.
- Editors choose that edition, write their posts, and mark them final when they are ready.
- The manager opens each post and checks which posts are still drafts.
- When no drafts remain, the manager can export a PDF and publish the edition.
- Final posts from the published edition appear on the journal homepage.
Before and after publishing
- Editors can write while an edition is open.
- A post starts as a draft. The editor marks it final when it is ready.
- Editors can keep changing draft and final posts while the edition is open.
- Publishing an edition locks it for editors.
- Readers only see final posts from published editions.
- Editors should return to the same browser when they continue a saved post.
